Kengo Morimoto「
Appearance[]
Kengo is a young man with silver-grey hair, trimmed bangs and muted lavender eyes. For his outfit, he wears a tan cardigan, ear piercings, a white shirt, a red tie, blue pants and black shoes.
Personality[]
Aqua describes Kengo as "awful in front of the camera" while he was assessing his fellow cast members in LoveforReal.[3] Kengo Morimoto is portrayed as a quiet and detached individual who shows little enthusiasm toward the romantic premise of Real Love ♡ Starts Now. From the outset, he treats the show as a performance rather than a genuine opportunity for romance, even remarking that he has “become a pro in front of the camera.” His lack of ambition or emotional investment results in minimal presence both in-universe and in the broadcast, aligning with Aqua’s assessment that he is a contestant who is unlikely to stand out.
Reserved and introverted, Kengo avoids drawing attention to himself and maintains a subdued demeanor throughout the series. Although he participates in group activities, he rarely engages in the love triangle drama, viewing the developing couplings with a distant, almost amused perspective,, indicating that he interacts with others comfortably despite his low-energy disposition.
As a bandman, Kengo contributes creatively when needed, using his musical abilities to add background music during the cast’s explanation video for Akane. While he generally remains in the background, he reveals genuine emotion in serious moments, notably appearing with a bitter expression at Aqua’s funeral. This suggests a deeper sensitivity beneath his otherwise passive and unobtrusive presence.
Plot[]
Kengo first appeared on the poster of the reality dating show We're About to Fall in Love for Real, where he is featured as a member.[4] He is introduced as a musician, and a third-year high school student[5], and later on can be seen listening to the direction by the reality show's directors.[6] Kengo later can be seen reacting in surprise along with other member to Yuki's declaration to leave the show in the middle of shooting[7], as well as when the members plan to eat together.[8] He later became part of the "plot" of the reality show where he was shown to be jealous of the budding relationship between Yuki Sumi and Nobuyuki Kumano.[9]
