I'll Go With Sweet Today「今日は甘口で, Kyō wa amakuchi de^?」, or more commonly known as Sweet Today「今日あま, Kyō ama^?」, is a fictional Shoujo manga series written by Yoriko Kichijouji, and at some point she had Abiko Samejima as assistant for the manga.

Summary

The series is about a distrustful girl who finally starts to make friends and falls in love with a foul mouthed boy, who holds another deep secret. Its chapters are collected in 14 volumes.

Live-Action Adaptation

The live-action adaptation of the series was produced by "an internet TV station" and had six episodes total, with most of the cast being newcomers in acting. Due to the small size of the project, the full story of the manga was cut in some ways while adding some original characters. Later on, it was revealed that the production team prioritized male models with good looks to promote in the future while acting ability was considered secondary.

As a result, the adaptation was poorly received, as fans were disappointed with its quality, particularly the acting. The show received low scores as the viewership went down, and although the final episode received some praise from fans, the show would not continue the manga's story with a sequel.

Trivia

• I'll Go With Sweet Today also appears in Aka Akasaka's other manga, Kaguya-sama: Love is War which takes place in the same universe.
  • However it is translated as Today Will Be Sweet and I'll Have It Mild Today. The English localization of the anime also translates the title as Go Sweet.
• Honoka Yokoyama, animation director for several episodes of the anime is credited for the comic design of Sweet Today for the anime adaptation of both Oshi no Ko and Kaguya Sama.
