Wish「願い, Negai?」 is the twenty-fourth episode of Oshi no Ko anime adaptation and the final episode of the second season.
Synopsis[]
Revenge is over, and Gorou's body is found. What is Aqua's answer to his relationship with Akane, whom he had kept by his side in order to use her? Meanwhile, Ruby receives information related to the incident from a mysterious girl...!?[1]
Summary[]
Following the discovery of Gorou Amamiya's body, Ruby is brought in by the police for her testimony while Aqua goes to the site to see his old body. Miyako brings Ruby back to the inn and gives her the choice to not participate in tomorrow's shoot, but Ruby insists she can do it.
Elsewhere, Aqua talks with Akane and apologizes for making her witness such a scene. Akane questions why he is apologizing and bearing responsibility, having heard that the body was that of a murder victim. Aqua admits that he was actually hoping for Akane to find the corpse by dropping hints and thanks her for finding it. He comes clean about having used Akane for his own ends for everything, from his revenge plot to the discovery of Gorou's corpse. Akane understands that Aqua's guilt over his treatment of her weighs on his conscience. She claims she is ready to break up with him, but can't help herself from crying. Aqua comforts her and says that with his revenge over and the corpse found, it's his turn to protect her before pulling her into a kiss.
The next day, Ruby wanders to the hospital roof with Gorou's keychain in hand. There, she is approached by the mysterious crow girl, who tells Ruby that she knows what she wants to know. Later, B-Komachi gathers to prepare for their next shoot, which is outside. On the drive to the location, Ruby recalls her conversation with the girl, who revealed that Gorou disappeared when Ai gave birth and that there were two shady individuals who were hanging around the hospital during that time, one of them being Ai's killer while the other, a middle-school-aged boy, is for her to find out.
As B-Komachi begins filming in a cold river, Anemone reviews each member's appeal. On Ruby's turn, she thinks about Ai and Gorou's tragic deaths, and how their killer is still out there. Just like Aqua declared all those years ago, Ruby declares to find and kill him as she sheds tears. Anemone, who had little inspiration when filming Ruby, witnesses Ruby's act and is immediately taken in by her sudden charisma. After completing the filming, Anemone tells the group she will send them the first music video but asks to take her time on the second one, having been inspired by Ruby.
At the hot springs, Akane reflects on the trip, including her and Aqua's kiss. As the memory makes her wonder if they are an official couple now, Kana appears. The two share small talk about Akane's work, with Kana admitting her envy with her growing career. Kana asks when she and Aqua will end their pretend relationship, but Akane quickly refutes that statement, saying it is real now. She then takes her leave shortly after, leaving Kana in disbelief. When Akane returns to her and Ruby's room and heads to bed, Ruby suddenly asks her why Aqua became an actor. Akane mentions Aqua's desire to meet someone in the industry, prompting Ruby to press for more answers. This worries Akane, who wants Aqua to forget about his revenge, so she lies to Ruby that the person he's looking for is probably an actor he likes. Akane quickly wraps up the conversation before going to sleep, but Ruby stays awake, her head filled of thoughts.
The next day, B-Komachi, Miyako, Aqua, and Akane visit the Aratate Shrine in Takachiho and make their wishes. Mem-Cho wishes that they could all become more popular. Miyako worriedly wishes that her talents don't cause problems. Akane wishes that her acting would get better. Kana, with a gloomy face, also wishes they could all become more popular. Ruby, however, wishes Aqua would find the person who killed Ai and Gorou soon.
After the trip, Aqua narrates what has happened since then. The music video for B-Komachi's newest song, "POP IN 2," became a hit, resulting in the new B-Komachi garnering more popularity. Half a year later, Aqua and Ruby are now in their second year of high school while Akane and Kana are in their third. Aqua further says that this was the year that their careers took off.
In a post-credits scene, a dying woman lies at the foot of a cliff in a forest after taking a deadly fall. Aqua and Ruby's father stands above her, and as the woman calls him a murderer before passing away, the man reveals his face, which bears a great resemblance to Aqua's.
