Synopsis[]
Aqua delivers a painful yet realistic emotional performance as he reminisces about his past. Regret, sadness and a dream of salvation that is not destined to come true... Using all this, Aqua is able to fulfill his role![1]
Summary[]
Years ago, Ai took her children to watch That Was the Start at the cinema and she could not stop praising Aqua for his performance. She then called him a genius and said he could become the most amazing actor in the future. In the present, Aqua continues to deliver a power emotional performance. Kana is impressed but she cannot help but wonder why he looks to be in so much pain. In his mind, Aqua is back in the hallway of his childhood home and is haunted by the vengeful spirit in form of his former life, refusing to let him forget about the past. He is not allowed a happy life until the culpable party has suffered. Aqua says that the vengeful spirit is just his past self, who was helpless and could do nothing.
Blade (Taiki Himekawa) and Touki (Aqua Hoshino) continue to exchange blows and Touki manages to land a critical hit at Blade's abdomen but Blade retaliates with a major strike which finally takes down Touki. Blade declares the battle over and to tend to the wounded but things appear to be too late for Princess Saya (Akane Kurokawa). However Tsurgi (Kana Arima) observed earlier that Saya's sword, specifically the scabbard has the ability to transfer wounds, which she has been using throughout the battle healing not just her allies but her enemies at the same time. Blade and Tsurgi then use the power themselves to bring Princess Saya back alive. For years, Aqua has a dream that Ai survived. He now imagines that coming true and channel that emotion into his performance.
Following the end of the play, Yuki, Nobuyuki and Kengo come to see Akane and praise her acting but she think she still has some way to go to catch up the like of Taiki or Kana. In the mean time, Ruby goes to see Kana, who is completely exhausted after just the first performance and is reminded by Mem-Cho that they still have a video to film later. Ruby calls Kana an acting genius and she is momentarily happy before stating that she is no genius. She then briefly reflects on Akane's performance and vows to come out on top by the time the run is over. Outside, Kaburagi has a catch-up with Kindachi over a smoke break. They talked about the production as well as the improvements demonstrated by the actors involved. Kaburagi believs that Kana possess a certain star quality while Kindachi has previously thought Akane has reached her peak but she seems poised for further growth. Thus the curtain falls but the next story is about to begin.
On another day, after the curtain call of another performance, Rio suggests heading out for drinks again. Akane starts making the reservations. Rio invites Taiki, whom in turn invites Kindachi. Kana is not interested at first but changes her mind when Aqua states his intention of going. At the BBQ place, Kana starts blabbing about the industry they work in. Aqua take this opportunity to talk to Kindachi about Lala Lai. Kindachi explains that at the beginning, it was a bunch of people who performed in a drama school play coming together to form a drama club. Aqua continues to ask more but Kindachi refuses to divulge any further. Taiki then steps in and take them to another bar where he gets the bartenders to keep Kindachi drinking to get him to spill the beans. Kindachi tries to get Taiki drinking and Aqua to ask about their relationship. Taiki explains that he was an orphan and Kindachi has been taking care of him since he left the orphanage. Soon, Kindachi passes out and Taiki apologizes but Aqua does not mind as he has something else in mind. Aqua pulls out a DNA analysis, which states Aqua and Taiki share a biological father and asks how much he knows about their father.
