Rapid Progress「躍進, Yakushin?」 is the ninety-fourth chapter of the Oshi no Ko manga series. It is written by Aka Akasaka and illustrated by Mengo Yokoyari. It was released in Weekly Young Jump on September 15, 2022.[1]
Summary[]
With her soaring popularity, Ruby win an award for her idol work. Following the controversy of Dig Deep! One Chance, she has become highly regarded in the industry and couple with her brother, additional opportunities have opened up. The B-Komachi youtube channel has since gained 300,000 subscribers in six months and is close to 1 million subscribers in total.
Mem-Cho and Kana discuss Ruby's breakthrough with Kana noting that with Ruby's good looks, her rise could have been even faster if she is part of a major company. Mem-Cho on the other hand notes that Ruby's recent rise has led to B-Komachi's youtube channel surpassing her own personal channel. They then change topics to talk about filming for the day's video but without Ruby in the video again, the comments will turn on them.
Meanwhile Miyako is busy arranging Ruby's schedule, Ruby's popularity means she is receiving a lot of offers and Miyako is struggling to keep up, which is noted by Aqua. She is thankful that Shun has agreed to become Ruby's personal manager, leaving his previous job as assistant director behind. She notes Ruby is now influential enough to convince people to switch jobs but Miyako still cannot help but want to be with Ruby on set as that is more suitable for her. However Ichigo left her in charge of the company, so she has no choice but to embrace this role. If their agency was a major company, they could have landed better jobs for their talents. Ruby however seems to be able to find jobs all by herself, it could be down to luck but it is almost as a hidden hand is pulling the strings.
At a fishing docks, Ichigo is approached by Aqua. Noticing his presence, Ichigo wonders out loud how his adopted son has located him. In response, Aqua explains that he started following Ruby in secret because she has been going off on her own without saying her plans. Aqua then accuses Ichigo of giving Ruby ideas and securing her jobs without permission. Furthermore Aqua does not forgive Ichigo for leaving everything to Miyako but asks if he does not have any regrets.
