In response to Aqua's questions, Ruby answers that while she had some involvement, she could not have calculated everything. Nonetheless she explains that she is simply imitating him, specifically what he put into motion during LoveforReal controversy. In the aftermath, he won over Akane and became popular, therefore she is simply doing the same thing. Aqua demands her reasons for doing so and she explains that she has been advised by someone to be nice to the assistant director since they will become directors one day. However she wants to gain fame quicker, so ...
Earlier that day, following the recording of the episode, director Urushibara has approached Ruby to thank her for coming up with such a plan. It has given him hope of restoring some of his reputation loss from the scandal and how he can repay her. In return, Ruby asked him to keep using her in the future. Meaning her plan was to go for the director instead. Aqua accuse her of causing the controversy but she explains that it was just coincidence. She knew about the problems behind the scenes, so she simply nudge them along by introducing a troublemaker like Meiya, who has had a history of leaking.
Aqua then asks about her friendship with Meiya, which Ruby denies ever being friends with her, stating she hates people who have loose mouths. It is her belief that leaks can be used to make the world a better place but people only use it for personal attacks. And without any discussion or investigation, it goes straight to the lynching. Even their mother was not immune back in the day when rumors started spreading when she was photographed with a classmate. Ruby feels vindicated, having successfully brining everyone together for a proper discussion.
Aqua questions the morality in all this, reminding Ruby her desire to be a pure, honest idol, who refuse to tell lies. Ruby justifies her action by saying that their mother lied too and she believe it is impossible to be famous without lying. Since then, Ruby starts getting a lot of work but her actions also leaves a trail of destruction in its wake.
