Music Video「
Summary[]
Ruby is surprised to find out that she is being recorded while eating a sandwich, as director Anemone explains how music videos for idols are usually divided into two parts, the dancing part, and the drama part. The dancing part is used to pad the duration, while the drama part is used to showcase each idol member and their cuteness. After finishing her explanation, Anemone and the cameraman turn to Kana as she requests Kana to look at the camera as if it were her crush. Kana complies, turning slowly to the camera and stuns Anemone. She guesses that Kana has a crush on someone and begins pestering Kana for information with a sly grin.
Mem-Cho continues explaining to Ruby about music videos, saying that they usually have a concept and rough plot ahead of a shoot, but they only decide what to film once they reach the set. Mem-Cho states that gravure photographers like Anemone are resourceful since she can fully bring out their subject's cuteness as Anemone continues teasing Kana in the background.
Ruby comments on the number of staff members, and Kana explains the makeup of a production team, saying that they usually have at least 10-20 people and that production costs about five million yen. The amount shocks Ruby, but Kana says that the amount comes from their agency, and, by extension, their president Miyako, and Ruby should thank her for her willingness to fund a group that has not even made a profit yet as they do. While Ruby hugs Miyako and thanks her, Kana gloomily says that other underground idols only spend five hundred thousand yen per video.
Aqua and Akane return to the set after their exploration, and Aqua asks about the progress of the shoot. Mem-Cho replies that they have mostly finished shooting Ruby and Kana's drama parts, and they are about to shoot their dance parts. Aqua wonders about Mem-Cho's own drama parts, which she says she can do later, because unlike the other two, she is not a minor, and they're forbidden to work after 10 PM, and she can film her part all night long if needed, explaining it all with a distressed face. Kana appears and says that child actors under the age of 13 can only work until 9 PM if they have the permission from authorities, and this is why there are cases where minors cannot appear after a certain period, for example a late-night show such as NHK Red and White Song Battle.
Kana appears wearing her idol outfit, which surprises Aqua. Kana is satisfied with the design, saying that they picked it together, and she says that Ruby likes the outfit because it gives her an idol vibe. Akane sees her outfit and says it's not good at all. Aqua watches from the sideline, worried that they will fight since he knows Akane doesn't like that Kana is focusing on being an idol. Akane asks Kana to come over, and she instead fixes part of Kana's outfit and rambles on about what she needs to pay attention to, like her ribbon, her belt, and how the outfit gets dusty because she walks around too much.
Kana asks for Akane's comment after, and she says she will give it a passing mark, but she is secretly fawning over Kana. Aqua notices and remarks to himself that things are complicated for Akane since she is a former fan of Kana's. Kana asks for Aqua's opinion as well but he simply echoes Akane's statement, which frustrate Kana who wishes that they can just be honest with her and praise her. The shoot continues as B-Komachi performs their dance choreography. Akane deduces that Kana has improved as an actress because of her idol gig, as she now seemingly has an appearance that demands attention, and people cannot help but look at her. Akane asks Aqua if Kana would sell as an idol as she is unaware of the current idol industry, and Aqua looks at a dancing Kana and says she will sell.
Akane then looks on and says that he can no longer go on dates with Kana like the other day, something that she was made aware of by Kana herself who was bragging to her about it. She continues by saying that as Kana grows more famous, she will get more attention, and she can no longer do public dates anymore. Akane warns Aqua to use private rooms if he still wants to eat together with her in that case because all it takes for her career to plunge is a scandal. She closes by saying that actors like Aqua tend to be a bit loose regarding privacy issues like those, so she needs to remind him.
Aqua agrees with her words and begins thinking about Kana and her fate if she is seen with him or other guys, and in the worst case, Aqua thinks she might end up like Ai. With that thought, he stares at Kana in silence.
