Sore Loser「負けず嫌い, Makezugirai?」 is the fortieth chapter of the Oshi no Ko manga series. It is written by Aka Akasaka and illustrated by Mengo Yokoyari. It was released in Weekly Young Jump on April 8, 2021.[1]
Summary[]
The day after B-Komachi's first performance, Kana confronts Aqua why he helped them while dressed up as Pieyon. Aqua states that dressing up was the only way as she refuses to listen if he was speaking as Aqua. After a brief pause, Kana blushes and points out that suffering he must have been through as well as complementing his ability to mimic other's voice. An annoyed Aqua then he gets up to walk away but as Kana continues to tease and pester him, he turns around to get the record straight. Meanwhile Ruby and Mem-Cho are watching close by with Ruby happy to see them talking again, as she explains to Mem how Kana seems to bring out Aqua's old personality in him. Mem-Cho then thinks to herself that Akane has her work cut out
Elsewhere, Kaburagi is having a meeting with Sumiaki Raida, who is over the moon, having secured the right to produce of the a stage play adaptation for the Tokyo Blade manga series. Raida has secured a big budget for the project with Lala Lai on board as well. He has now come to Kaburagi for young, good-looking actors to help fill out the rest of the roles, and Kaburagi agrees to help.
Aqua and Akane go on a work date and talk about working together in the upcoming Tokyo Blade project, where they have been cast as characters who are an established couple. However there is another character who is also a love interest for Aqua's character, and Akane wonders who got cast as her. Kana interrupts their date, revealing that she has been casted in that role, before scolding Akane for uploading on social media in real-time. Akane' face quickly clouds over and two girls start trading veiled insults at each other. Kana soon departs, letting the couple resume their date. Having witnessed their exchange of words, Aqua asks Akane about Kana. Akane explains that they are actors of the same age since kids and they have been competing for various roles since. Both girls declare that they will not lose.
With the casting is finalized, Raida gets excited over Kana and Akane's dynamic and looks forward to Tokyo Blade's stage play.
