Storm「嵐, Arashi?」 is the twenty-sixth chapter of the Oshi no Ko manga series. It is written by Aka Akasaka and illustrated by Mengo Yokoyari. It was released in Weekly Young Jump on November 26, 2020.[1]
Summary[]
As Aqua pulls Akane back from the bridge railing, he tells her to calm down. He explains that Mem-Cho started looking for her when she realized that was out in the middle of a typhoon. As Aqua admonishes Akane for her suicide attempt, a police officer arrives at the scene and asks what they are doing.
At Ichigo-Pro, Kana and Ruby discuss about Akane's current standing online. Ruby wonders if that is something one would get used, Kana explains that a little but not everyone is capable of doing so. Even for someone like her, there are days that she contemplated dying, so for a teenage girl like Akane, it would be bad enough that one might think their life is over. Miyako comes in, explaining that there have been nearly 50 suicide attempts among dating show participants. Aware that the show exposes its actors, Ruby recalls Aqua telling her that lying is the best way to protect oneself, which Kana agrees with. Kana then talks about how people on social media thoughtlessly attack celebrities online. Hearing all this, Ruby gets worried for her brother. Suddenly Miyako receives a call, Aqua has been detained by the police, to the girls' dismay.
At the police station, Akane burst into tears as her mother explains to the police that she was unaware of what was happening. She asks Akane why she kept it from her, and Akane says that she does not want her to worry, bringing her mother to tears. Miyako arrives and praises Aqua for saving Akane. She thought he was not interested in others but has been paying attention all along. Aqua explains people die easily, he had to act there and then or it would have been too late. The other co-stars arrive to see Akane, and a distraught Yuki slaps her before tearfully saying that she could have talked to them. Aqua asks Akane what she will do, given the current circumstances she can step down from the show without needing to worry about the contract. Despite her fear, Akane does not want her and everyone's work to go to waste and opts to stay on the show, and her co-stars support her decision.
While the matter resolved, Aqua vents his disgust of the program staff's actions and the people online pushed Akane to the current point. Aware that there are reporters constantly on standby at the police station, Aqua leaks Akane's suicide attempt to the reporters, sparking controversy. Miyako is unimpressed by this decision, but Aqua states that the "real reality show" begins now.
