Summary[]
Mem-Cho spends the day out with Frill after buying a car. However the eagle-eyed Frill noticed that they have been followed by paparazzi throughout. Mem-Cho assumes the target is Frill but she points out that they were already there when Mem-Cho picked her up, meaning the target is Mem-Cho herself. Mem-Cho is surprised by this revelation and wonders out loud why she is being targeted. Frill explains that she has started becoming famous and newly popular celebrity are particularly vulnerable as they lack a sense of security to keep reporters at bay. And there is nothing they can do since the law cannot protect them. Arriving back at home, Mem-Cho takes a moment to reflect. She is not in a relationship and the only skeleton on her closet is the lie about her age. However everyone that she has known for a long time are aware of that fact. She starts feeling paranoid that someone might have leaked that to the tabloids wondering if it's someone who holds a grudge against her.
In the office, Mem-Cho discussed the issue with Ruby who should have it worse than most. However she does seem concerned at all and is somewhat nonchalant about it since Miyako has always protect her from the worst of it. While any article that comes out might impact her popularity, Mem-Cho is still worried that it would impact B-Komachi in some way and apologizes in advance. However Ruby points out Mem-Cho has always used the her status "high school girl" as a weapon to fight for her activities. Besides they knew about it when they asked her to join, so there is nothing that she needs to apologize for. Furthermore she has successfully navigated the entertainment industry wielding this weapon and has helped the group gone viral several times. Therefore Ruby believes that Mem-Cho should be able to navigate her current problem without issue.
Mem-Cho then goes live on her channel and makes an apologetic announcement that she has been lying about her age by making herself younger. She goes on to explain that she dreamed about becoming an idol and she was worried that she would be rejected if her real age was revealed. In the end she achieved her dream of becoming an idol despite her agency and teammates finding out. However still feels being disingenuous, so makes a vow to pass the college entrance exam and she will not quit until she enters college. Someone in her chat then asks her real age but she refuses to divulge that information, leaving her fans to speculate among themselves.
By putting a positive spin of the situation, there would not be any troubles even if the tabloids gets hold of her real age. Kana is impressed and complements her for a job well done. Mem-Cho points out everyone walks a tightrope in the entertainment industry, she will continue to thrive in this gray zone and declares herself a buzz queen.
