Fiction「フィクション, Fikushon?」 is the one hundred and fifty-third chapter of Oshi no Ko manga series. It is written by Aka Akasaka and illustrated by Mengo Yokoyari. It was released in Weekly Young Jump on June 27, 2024.
Summary[]
Aqua continues his confrontation with his father where he reveals the information he has gathered and reiterates his desire for revenge against him. Hikaru calmly compliments on the efforts he put in as well as congratulates him on the movie for its accuracy as well as the performance. However he claims it was still fiction filled with fabrication, exaggeration while concealing the inconvenient truths, leaving it just another piece of fiction for entertainment. This prompts Aqua to question his reasoning.
Hikaru explains that the movie depicts his love with Ai being awkward and appropriate for their age at the time, each understanding the other in their way. However that could not be any further from the truth as their relationship was rather one sided. Ai was not affectionate but she could not reject him either. Nonetheless she never loved him, yet he clung to her after getting dumped, so he had her killed out of spite. Overall there was nothing extraordinary about their love affair. Regardless he is going to get slaughtered socially, so his son's wish has come true and he is also willing to accept it if that was what Ai wanted as well. He then thanks Aqua for the opportunity to talk to him and starts making his way towards the door. However before Hikaru steps out of the room, Aqua asks if he knows what Ai truly wished for and what the lie the movie is referring to because the movie is not fiction.
The memories all those years ago starts flooding in and Hikaru remembers the funeral of Airi Himekawa and Seijuro Uehara. Kindaichi told him that he needed to shoulder the burden and live on for their lives. The weight of those words haunted him and he ran to Ai for help. To him, everyone simply wanted him for his looks and therefore he has to offer his body to be loved whereas Ai accepted and loved him. With Ai by his side, he would be able to carry this burden but everything changed one day when Ai told him that they should stop seeing each other.
