End of Summer「夏の終わり, Natsunoowari?」 is the one hundred and forty-eighth chapter of Oshi no Ko manga series. It is written by Aka Akasaka and illustrated by Mengo Yokoyari. It was released in Weekly Young Jump on May 9, 2024.
Summary[]
With filming on The 15 Year Lie wrapped up early, the cast spend the last day of production relaxing on a private beach, along with Minami who was invited by Frill. Gotanda expresses annoyance at having to drive everyone there because he owns a van, only to be ridiculed when it is revealed that he originally bought the vehicle to go on family outings, but he never even got married. Minami believes that they should try having fun since they will be back at work tomorrow but Frill interjects that she is actually taking a two month break, much to the envy of the overworked Ruby, Kana, and Taiki.
Some time later, as everyone is enjoying themselves, Taiki and Melt are watching the girls in their bathing suits. Melt is particularly eager to see Frill, who he never got to meet on set, only to be disappointed to see the celebrity in full diving gear, with Taiki pointing out that she marches to her own drum. Elsewhere, Aqua is pumping an inflatable raft when Kana comes to him and requests him to apply sun lotion to her. However, Akane then appears and begins applying the lotion to Kana herself, which the latter objects to before conceding it feels nice, causing Aqua to note that they seem like really good friends.
That evening, while everyone else is barbecuing, Akane confronts Aqua as he overlooks the ocean and calls him out for isolating himself. He asks if she does not feel awkward being around him and she affirms that she does but needs to watch him lest he might try to kill Hikaru, reminding him that, if he did, everyone here would be sad. Akane then assures Aqua that his father will surely face social sanctions following the movie's release and takes her leave, noting to herself that she only wishes for him to be happy.
As she walks along the beach, however, Akane finds Kana waiting for her. The latter confesses that she has always had feelings for Aqua but believes he is happier being with the former and encourages her to get back together with him, much to Akane's shock.
