Chain「連鎖, Rensa?」 is the one-hundred forty first chapter of Oshi no Ko manga series. It is written by Aka Akasaka and illustrated by Mengo Yokoyari.
Summary[]
The 15 Year Lie Scene 8: "Airi Himekawa's Verbal Attack"; Ai confronts Airi, having deduced that she molested Hikaru. While Airi claims that Hikaru came to her on his own, Ai reveals that what disgusts her is that Hikaru believes that it is "alright" to sell his body, accusing Airi of being a sex offender who corrupted a child just as he is beginning to figure out right from wrong. However, when Ai argues that "adults should empathize with children", Airi snaps and reveals that she was also molested when she was younger.
Backstage, Mem-Cho goes over the script and asks Akane if Airi's situation is what they call a "negative chain reaction". Miyako chimes in that it is not uncommon for sexual abuse victims to become offenders themselves. She continues that these things were a huge problem in the Shōwa era, when Airi was active, during which the industry had deep connections to crime syndicates and agencies had actresses attend drinking parties. While Miyako claims that things have improved since then, Akane sarcastically intertwines that women are now made to "play hostess", causing Mem-Cho to point out that things have not changed at all.
Miyako admits that the people of that era are now exploiting the next generation, having experienced it herself when she was active. She also claims that this is a problem throughout Japanese society but it is worse within the entertainment industry, where people are already sold as products. Taiki then chimes in, stating that people should still have moral obligations. However, he then begins making excuses for attending such parties himself after Akane calls him out on it, which falls on deaf ears. Taiki closes the conversation by mentioning that the situation has improved from what he could tell, but still warns Akane and Mem-Cho to be careful.
In the dressing room, Ruby and Kana sit together when Frill enters wearing nothing but a gown and pasties over her sensitive areas, much to the duo's shock. Kana asks if Frill is fine with showing so much skin and the latter answers that she wants to honor reality, causing Ruby to point out that she is truly giving it her all in this performance. Frill believes that it is the same for Ruby, bringing up her coming kiss scene with Aqua, which Ruby can barely contain her excitement for while Kana looks on in disgust.
