Commercial Work「商業作品, Shōgyō sakuhin?」 is the one-hundred thirteenth chapter of Oshi no Ko manga series. It is written by Aka Akasaka and illustrated by Mengo Yokoyari.
Summary[]
Gotanda has Ruby audition for the role of Ai. Ruby is noted to be lacking in the basics despite not being a total loss in terms of acting ability. Kaburagi is unsure at the idea of casting Ruby due to her star power being vastly overshadowed by Frill and is concerned that the movie may end up bombing with Ruby on board. Listening in on the conversation, Aqua decides that this might not be the best call after all as they'll need to have the movie become a box office success. Aqua thinks to himself that having Ruby playing the part of Ai may end up being too traumatic of an experience for her and considers having someone else step in instead.
Frill learns through the grapevine that the production is having problems with the casting process and decides to talk to Ruby one-on-one. She gives her a brief explanation of the Japanese entertainment industry, about how public auditions aren't really a thing, how acting ability doesn't really matter and that only the bigwigs are allowed to pick and choose their roles. Frill is seemingly offended at the idea of lowly production crews picking and choosing their cast.
Frill then tells Ruby that since they're friends, she wants to put all that aside and have a competition with Ruby to see who gets the role, with the loser backing out once the dust settles. Ruby decides to take up Frill on her challenge before Frill interjects and says Akane will be joining the competition.
