Summary[]
An Idol group advertises that it is auditioning new members. Among the 136,114 applicants is Ruby. She has passed the written review and interview as she dreams of becoming an idol in the opes of following her late mother's footsteps. However, Aqua disapproves, as he would like Ruby to focus on her studies, particularly since the high school entrance exam is coming up. He does so by listing out the cruel facts associated with idols but Ruby insists on following her dream. Not wanting to argue with Ruby, Aqua leaves to meet with Taishi.
Ruby thinks to herself that Aqua's personality has changed dramatically since their mother died. She also noted his coldness and indifference, accompanied by his gloomy expressions. Furthermore, Ichigo disappeared leaving his wife, Miyako to take charge of his company. The company no longer has an Idol division since B-Komachi disbanded not long after Ai's death and has shifted it focus on internet personalities instead.
Although Miyako would love to start an idol division again, it's impossible to rekindle what they once had ever since Ai died. Just then, Ruby receives a phone call about the results of her audition and becomes devastated to learn that she failed to make the cut. However, it's revealed that Aqua is sabotaging her attempt by posing as the test results announcer telling her of her failure as well informing to the idol organizers that she was withdrawing. He is doing all of this at Taishi's makeshift studio, and the director compliments Aqua's acting skills. Also, Taishi opines that Ruby has excellent talent as an idol, but Aqua reinforces his will not to allow Ruby to follow in Ai's footsteps.
