Airi Himekawa「姫川 (ひめかわ) 愛梨 (あいり) , Himekawa Airi^?」 was a minor, pivotal character in the Oshi no Ko manga series. She was a successful actress in her day as well as the wife of Seijuro Uehara and the mother of Taiki Himekawa.

When Taiki was 5 years old, her husband killed her in a murder-suicide, later implied to have been caused by him learning that their supposed son was actually the product of her molesting Hikaru Kamiki, the father of Aqua and Ruby Hoshino.

Appearance

Airi had chest-length dark hair that was split on either side, dark-colored eyes and she wore dark-colored lipstick.

Personality

Since Airi never physically appears in the story, not much is known about her general demeanor. However, her having an affair with an 11-year-old boy indicates that she was a child molester. Also, the fact that she kept all this from her husband suggests that she was an unfaithful woman who had no qualms about cheating on him.

History

Not much is known about Airi except that she was an actress who was married to Seijuro Uehara. At some point, she molested aspiring actor Hikaru Kamiki, who was only 11 years old at the time, which resulted in the birth of Taiki Himekawa.

However, it was suspected that Seijuro learned of her secret later on, which prompted him to kill her at a cottage in Karuizawa before committing suicide.

Etymology

• The name Airi means "love, affection" (愛) (ai) and "pear" (梨) (ri).
• Airi's surname Himekawa means "princess, young lady of noble birth" (姫) (hime) and "river, stream" (川) (kawa).

Trivia

• Despite being the wife of Seijuro Uehara, it is unknown as to why Airi retains her surname ("Airi Himekawa") instead of taking Seijuro's surname ("Airi Uehara").
• According to Aqua Hoshino in Chapter 68, Airi "played the female protagonist in a morning drama." (*'Morning Drama' mentioned in Chapter 41).
